Teachers' houses (öğretmenevi) are not only in Istanbul; they exist in almost every province of Turkey and in many holiday towns. From Bodrum to Cappadocia, from Trabzon to Mardin, they offer centrally located accommodation that is often more affordable than hotels. On this page we have gathered teachers' houses in the most popular holiday and travel regions. Since teachers' houses fill up early in summer and during religious holidays, we have also added a nearby hotels link next to each one, so you can look for an alternative in the same area if there is no room.
Who Can Stay at Teachers' Houses?
- Priority goes to teachers (active and retired). An institutional ID is requested at check-in.
- If rooms are available, other public employees and, at some teachers' houses, civilian guests may also be accepted; the price list is usually different. This depends on each teachers' house's own practice.
- Reservations are mostly made by phone; instant online booking is not available everywhere.
- In coastal towns, summer reservations fill up months in advance. Call early.
We have separate lists for Istanbul: Istanbul Teachers' Houses and Istanbul Public Guesthouses and Lodging Houses.

How Do I Find the Phone Number?
The current phone number of teachers' houses without a number in this list can be found on the website of the provincial or district directorate of national education they belong to, and in the institution's map listing. When you call, ask about room availability, admission conditions and current prices together.
This page was prepared in 2026 for information purposes. Addresses, phone numbers and admission conditions may change; please call the institution to confirm before you set off.
