This mosque was built in the second half of the 17th century by Defterdar Ibrahim Pasha, a high-ranking Ottoman treasurer.
It has been restored four times throughout its history:

• 1833 during the reign of Sultan Mahmud II,
• 1885 under Sultan Abdulhamid II,
• 1941 by the Directorate of Foundations,
• and finally in 2011.

Despite the restorations, the mosque has retained its quiet charm and authenticity.
