Bahçeşehir Pond - Where Is Turkey's First and Largest Artificial Pond?

It is Turkey's first and largest artificial pond and covers an area of 26,000 m². It is located within the 300,000 m² Bahçeşehir Park recreation area. In this area there are facilities such as many restaurants, private clubs, a tea garden, six sports and golf clubs. It has been fenced in to protect the green areas and the pond, to ensure the safety of those who come to rest, stroll, have fun and do sports, and for the healthy use of the area. And it has three main entrance gates.

Ramadan Stage: The Bahçeşehir Pond area, one of the important meeting points of Başakşehir residents, is one of the places they prefer during Ramadan thanks to the special events held. There are many events such as puppet shows for children, Hacivat–Karagöz, children's theatre, various stage competitions, as well as Turkish Art Music, ilahi (hymn) and Turkish Folk Music concerts. While local tradespeople display their products at the stands set up in the areas, cotton candy and macun sellers decorate the streets. Citizens who fill the areas after iftar enjoy resting while sharing the joy of Ramadan together.

Bahçeşehir Arena: In summer, at the "Summer Evenings in Bahçeşehir Festival" events at Bahçeşehir Arena, which are also given colour and variety by the stands companies set up to promote their products and services, there are various entertainments from concerts to tightrope walkers, from street musicians to various animation shows. In these programmes, people of all ages, especially young people, have the opportunity to have fun.

You can get there by the double-decker express 76E from Aksaray, E58 from Mecidiyeköy or E57 from Bakırköy.
