Opened under the direction of Sunay Akın next to the Ataşehir Mimar Sinan Mosque. Its activities are for ages 4 and over, but it also has theatre shows for ages 3 and over.
Turkey's first toy museum was opened by Ataşehir Municipality on 19 May 2015 in Mimar Sinan Park in the Barbaros neighbourhood.
Curated by Sunay Akın and designed by stage designer Ayhan Doğan, the Düştepe Toy Museum was set up in a single-storey wooden building within a 60,000-square-metre park.
Another single-storey wooden building in the park and part of the park were turned into a playground. At the Düştepe Toy Museum and Play Garden, a first in Turkey, there are hundreds of games, from children's games collected from more than 20 countries and about 150 collectors, a 150-year-old chess set, Victorian-era cube games and a 100-year-old first stone house building game, to the first space games.
The history of the games and toys in the museum, which also features heroes from the worlds of comics, literature, cinema and television that have developed play culture, goes back to the early 1800s.
In the Düştepe Play Garden there are bowling, chess, mini golf, a maze, table tennis and wooden swings for children.
