
The couplet "Open and drink water with the Basmala, pray to Khan Ahmed" is famous in the poem. The wall cells carved for birds to drink water are a sign of Ottoman elegance and finesse.
In front of Topkapi Palace and behind Hagia Sophia, there is the Sultan Ahmet Fountain, which was built during the reign of Sultan Ahmed III in the 18th century. It is famous for its inscription. The couplet "Aç Besmeleyle iç suyu Han Ahmed’e eyle dua" is particularly well-known. The wall niches carved for birds to drink water are a testament to Ottoman elegance and refinement. The fountain’s tap table features the inscription "Maşallah." Each of the fountain's four sides has a spout, and there is a sebil at each corner.
